Volunteering

The Treehouse Center’s Volunteer Program was developed to enhance the facility’s services.

The Treehouse Center will allow volunteers to assist with recreational activities and interact with the residents of The Treehouse Center in various areas.

A Volunteer is defined as a person who provides services to The Treehouse Center without monetary compensation. Volunteers can include sponsoring families.

Volunteer Program Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Pass all background and criminal history checks

ALL applicants must do the following to be considered for the Volunteer Program:

a. Complete a Treehouse Center Volunteer Program application
b. Provide names, addresses and phone numbers of three verifiable references, and at least one reference must have knowledge of the volunteer and how they relate and conduct themselves with children.
c. Successfully pass ALL background checks as required by DFPS – GRO Minimum Standards

Volunteers who meet all the above requirements will be selected to interview with The Treehouse Center’s LCCA and Executive Director.

If the Executive Director and LCCA approve the volunteer, the LCCA will notify the volunteer of her work schedule and specific duties.

Prior to contact with residents of The Treehouse Center ALL Volunteers must:

a. Complete ALL of The Treehouse Center’s required trainings:
– Policies, Procedures and Programs
– Fire and Health Safely Standards
– Understanding Children in Care
b. Agree to follow all rules and regulations of The Treehouse Center
c Agree to be observed by a staff member at all times
d. Volunteers must agree to immediately report any suspected incident of neglect or exploitation to the LCCA, Executive Director or staff of The Treehouse Center.
